Will PPT positive lead to any infection or disease?

My doctor had given me a PPT test last two years ago. I have a positive PPT, but I don't have any active or clinic TB. My doctor told me to have a tablet daily for 9 month, but I only ended up with 7 months. Will PPT positive lead to any infection or disease? What's the consequence for not finish 9 months medicine my doctor told me to? My neck feel kinda uncomfortable recently, does it relate to my positive PPT? My doctor says my neck is perfectly fine though.
